I swim competively. I swim in the longer kind of Speedo suit (Jammers) but I would like to know how to prevent it from deteriorating. Every night after swimming practice I always soak it in cold fresh water. iphone development . But is there any other soulution or advice that you may have? Thanks in advance.

Keep your old swim suits. When practicing, wear the old one over your newer one. Your newer one will stay newer longer, and you will not have to deal with the embarrassment of wearing a see-through skin-tight swim suit. At meets wear only your good swim suit.

Aside from the one solution offered here by respondent #1, I suggest that you wash it immediately in cold water after you’ve finished (pls. don’t wash it with strong detergent) and hung it to dry away from sunlight. Or buy Speedo Endurance+, this lasts for six months max.

I know what you mean. The Jammers seem to just deteriorate. What I do is after getting out of the water, immediately go to the showers and rinse them off. It is the chlorine that gets to it. If you are just soaking them, yea, you are spreading out the chlorine out through all of the water, but it is still there. You have to rinse them using running water.

You really can’t keep them from deteriorating. I’ve been swimming for 8 years, and have gone through many suits. I had one suit that lasted about 2.5 years, but then the lining tore and they didn’t work anymore. You can make them last longer my soaking them in cold water, and air-drying them, but there’s really nothing you can do to keep them from deteriorating all together.
