Have You Heard About the Disney Magic Cruise Ship?
Have you heard about the Disney Magic cruise ship? Oh you haven't? Well I have just been reading about it online and I will tell you all about it. To start with it is the sister ship to the Disney Wonder.
Do you want to know how big it is? That is easy, it is 964 feet in length and at its widest point is 106 feet. It has 10 decks and a whopping 83,000 gross tonnage. It can accommodate as many as 2,400 people for passengers and has a crew and cast of 945 to take care or entertain them.
There are several youth clubs for the kids to enjoy. The Disney's Oceaneer Club is great for the younger kids they can play on computers and they can make believe they are their favorite hero or princess. The kids can educate themselves in an enjoyable way in the Oceaneer Lab; they do need the parents' permission though. In Ocean quest the children who are 11 - 13 can even steer the ship, virtually that is.
I have to plan a Disney cruise trip for my family now if for no other reason than the selection of pools they offer! The Disney Magic has 3 swimming pools. One is for the kids, one for the family, and then one for adults only! The family and adult ones have 2 whirlpool spas each. The one for the kids is shaped like Mickey Mouse and has his face on the bottom of the pool.
This ship takes you back to the glory days of ocean liners. In those days that was the only way to get across the oceans. The liners were opulent and grand in style and comfort. From an artistic chandelier to the roomy staterooms the Disney Magic delivers elegance to their passengers. You can even view animation cells from Disney's rare collection of them throughout the ship. This ship is decorated in art deco with sculptures, woodwork, and paintings that were specially created for it.
By the way, the chandelier I mentioned was designed by Dale Chihuly, a world famous glass artist from Seattle. It is a fabulously crafted chandelier. This helps to decorate the atrium lobby. The same grand theme is carried throughout the ship even to the staterooms. Oh I have you hooked do I?
Well let me tell you about the areas they have for entertainment, so you can really plan your trip now. We will find several clubs and restaurants on deck 3. There is Sessions which is a Deco piano bar in the Beat Street area. Adults can drink cocktails and listen to music.
Also on deck 3 there are restaurants one of which is the Lumiere's. This restaurant does French and American cuisine and is themed on Beauty and the Beast. Doesn't this sound like a fun atmosphere to eat in?
Oh another interesting fact of this ship is where it was built. It was constructed in the famous Fincantieri shipyards located in Italy. This company is highly thought of for their quality workforce and engineers. This vessel has amazing power and speed while being a beauty to behold.
