Mitchmitchell,It is big, but not the biggest. There are several pororoca, and they’re not actually in the Amazon, but in the tributaries which join it near the coast. The biggest tidal bore is the Quiantang dragon in China, which even dwarfs this one. SO big that it cannot really be surfed until some way inland where it calms down a bit. Where it first breaks it is often just a 10+wall of foam racing up a river which is sometimes too shallow for the fin of a board. Way fierce.
